How much it will cost
Miss Jo Walia is the principal of Van Eaton Solicitors and will have conduct of your case. Her hourly rate is £260 plus VAT.
All-time recording is in 6-minute units, rounded up. Short letters in and out (which include emails) and telephone calls /text messages and attendances on yourself or others on your behalf are charged at 10% of the effective hourly rate. It is difficult to estimate the costs of your matter at this stage but will provide you with regular updates.
We will endeavour to invoice you regularly. If you require invoices at any particular intervals, please contact the partner or supervising partner named in 5 above. We can also provide you with a breakdown of the time recorded on the matter up to any point but bear in mind that when invoicing you may not charge you for the time we do not consider was properly spent, and that recorded time does not reflect any discount or mark-up that may be agreed.
If any bill remains outstanding for more than thirty days, then we reserve the right to wait until the payment is received before doing any further work on your matter. If the bill is not cleared within this period, we will charge interest on the bill at the permitted rate, currently 6% over base rate. If you have any difficulties paying our bill, then please contact us immediately as we may be able to work out a payment plan.
